We were honored to be part of Long Night of Science (Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften) once again and to share our latest insights with so many curious visitors.

From fascinating tricks of perception to social media research, we brought along several experiments for our audience!

  • The Rubber-Hand Illusion: We showed how easily our brains can be tricked! Many of our guests experienced firsthand how a rubber hand suddenly felt real—a perfect example of how flexible our body perception is.
  • The McGurk Effect: A true classic in sensory research. Visitors witnessed how what you see changes what you hear. It’s an impressive demonstration of the tight connection between our auditory and visual senses.
  • Smelling Social Media: We gave a glimpse into our exciting study where we are investigating how senses influence the perception of social media advertising.

The part we enjoy most every single time is the direct interaction. It’s great to see the excitement in people’s eyes when they experience a new effect.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, participated, and engaged us in interesting discussions with your intelligent questions. These nights full of curiosity and exchange are a vital motivation for our ongoing work.
